'Picnic at Hanging Rock' — Lesson 13: Brainstorming and Planning an Analytical Response
This individual lesson is part of the Lesson Ready unit on Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Lesson 13 guides students through brainstorming and planning a response to an analytical essay topic. Students identify key terms, test the topic’s assumptions and generate agreeing, disagreeing and qualifying ideas using relevant evidence from the film.
Students then organise their ideas into three supporting arguments, develop a contention that recognises complexity and produce a structured essay plan.
Includes:
- Editable PowerPoint lesson slideshow;
