'Gurrumul' — Lesson 02: Understanding the Context of 'Gurrumul'

This individual lesson is part of the Lesson Ready unit on Gurrumul (VCE English and EAL).

Lesson 02 develops students’ understanding of the geographical, historical, social and cultural contexts surrounding Gurrumul. Students explore the significance of Country, kinship, clan, language and music, connect contextual knowledge to documentary moments, and learn to distinguish supported interpretations from unsupported assumptions.
