'Picnic at Hanging Rock' — Lesson 05: Characters, Motivations and Relationships
This individual lesson is part of the Lesson Ready unit on Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Lesson 05 develops students’ understanding of the film’s characters, motivations and relationships. Students identify important characters, infer traits and motivations from film details, and examine how relationships reveal differences in power, freedom, class and emotional dependence.
Students also analyse how the disappearances affect characters and cause relationships to develop, weaken or expose underlying tensions.
