'Orbital' — Lesson 12: Developing Sophisticated Interpretations of 'Orbital'
An editable VCE English and EAL lesson helping students develop more sophisticated interpretations of Samantha Harvey’s Orbital.
Students compare stronger and weaker interpretations, diagnose common problems and revise simplistic or overly certain statements. They examine the wording and assumptions of analytical topics before developing interpretations that are precise, defensible and open to complexity.
The lesson prepares students to move beyond identifying themes by explaining the tensions, qualifications and contradictions within Harvey’s ideas.
