'Gurrumul' — Lesson 06: Music, Language and Cultural Preservation in 'Gurrumul'

This individual lesson is part of the Lesson Ready unit on Gurrumul (VCE English and EAL).

Lesson 06 explores how music carries language, cultural knowledge and connections with Country. Students analyse Gurrumul’s performances and orchestral collaboration, examine how sound and editing connect his music with Yolŋu culture, and consider music’s role in both cultural preservation and adaptation.
